KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, has an immediate opening for an energetic and creative news Video Editor to work with our news team.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Must be able to work in a pressured and very competitive environment with an experienced team
• Edit video for fast-paced news broadcasts
• Record live feeds for use in later broadcasts
• Take video files from reporters in the field and ensure it is prepared for newscast playback
• Communicate with producers to ensure correct video is attached to all stories
• Record newscasts airchecks
• Occasional fill in for Photojournalists to shoot live shots and stories
• Must be able to complete assignments under short deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to work varying shifts to accommodate scheduling needs
• Knowledge of non-linear editing preferred
• Must be proficient in video producing and editing
• Previous photojournalist experience is a plus
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
