The KAB Rising Star Award celebrates emerging broadcasters who have made a significant impact on their stations and communities. To be eligible, nominees must be under the age of 40 at the time of nomination and must have spent a minimum of one year at a Kansas radio or television station. Finalists will be selected based on their contributions to the broadcasting industry, innovative spirit, leadership potential, and dedication to community involvement.
Anyone may submit a nomination. To nominate an individual for the KAB Rising Star Award, please complete the nomination form below. Nominations should include a letter of recommendation (not to exceed 500 words) outlining the nominee's accomplishments, impact on their station and community, and potential for future leadership in broadcasting.
Nominations must be submitted by August 7. One radio and one television recipient will be selected by the KAB Board of Directors. Honorees will be recognized through KAB press releases, the KAB website, publications, member communications, and social media. Recipients will also be honored at the KAB Annual Convention on October 19, 2026.
